PACCAR will equip Kenworth and Peterbilt Class 8 trucks with factory-installed PACCAR Connect touchscreens and fleet management software beginning early 2027. The announcement came Monday at the American Trucking Associations conference in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The system consolidates vehicle health monitoring, remote diagnostics, mileage tracking, location data, warranty status and idle time into a single back-office portal. Drivers receive a high-definition touchscreen—a 13-inch portrait display on Peterbilt Models 579, 589 and 567—with voice assistant capabilities supporting more than 250 commands in English, Spanish and French.
The platform integrates third-party applications through the Virtual Vehicle marketplace, developed with Daimler Truck North America, Navistar, PACCAR and other manufacturers. PACCAR made a minority equity investment in Platform Science in March 2023. The factory-warranted system eliminates the need for multiple aftermarket cab devices.
