Paccar will deploy software updates to trucks equipped with MX-11 and MX-13 engines in response to the EPA's revised diesel exhaust fluid inducement guidance. Vehicles manufactured after July 20 will ship with the new software already installed. Trucks built after 2018 can be updated at Kenworth and Peterbilt dealerships. The update increases the final inducement speed limit from 5 mph to 25 mph and extends the repair window to 160 hours for emissions-related issues before speed restrictions activate, up from the previous limit. The changes aim to enhance system reliability while maintaining compliance with emissions standards. Paccar becomes the second major manufacturer to implement such upgrades since the EPA revised its guidance in March, following similar moves by Daimler Truck North America, which announced plans to update approximately 330,000 vehicles.
