De Pere, Wisconsin-based Paper Transport Inc. has partnered with Tesla to evaluate the Tesla Semi Long Range in dedicated Chicago market operations. The trucking company, which has championed sustainable transportation for over 15 years, said the pilot expands its emissions-reduction offerings alongside renewable natural gas and intermodal solutions. CEO Tyler Ellison said the partnership allows customers to reduce Scope 3 emissions without compromising service or economics. Paper Transport has logged more than 87 million miles on compressed and renewable natural gas. The dedicated operating model—with predictable routes and consistent mileage—provides ideal conditions for assessing battery-electric performance. Tesla began volume production of the Semi this year, with CEO Elon Musk indicating output will follow a typical ramp curve. Early production is constrained by supply chain complexity before accelerating later in the year and into 2027. The automaker is also deploying Megachargers and heavy-duty charging infrastructure.
