Patriot Rail Adds Scrap Recycler to NDW Network in Ohio

Patriot Rail has brought Okolona Metal & Iron online as a new customer on its Napoleon, Defiance & Western Railway in Northwest Ohio. The scrap and recycling operator now has direct rail access to its facility following a collaborative infrastructure project. Commercial, engineering, and transportation teams at Patriot Rail partnered with the customer and Vision Industrial to construct a new customer track. The effort repurposed rail materials from an ongoing maintenance project, creating innovative logistics solutions. The NDW, named Short Line of the Year in 2023, now serves the customer's expanded distribution needs. Patriot Rail operates 31 regional and short line railroads across more than 1,200 miles nationwide. In separate news, OmniTRAX dedicated its Savannah Industrial Transportation rail yard in Georgia to honor Board Member Dean Piacente.
