Penske Corporation and a second major shareholder announced plans Wednesday to acquire the remaining stake in Penske Automotive Group and take it private. The offer of $210 per share values the company at approximately $13 billion. Penske Corporation controls roughly 52% of the publicly traded company, while the second owner holds about 3%, leaving approximately 27.8% outstanding. Penske Automotive operates as one of the largest global automotive retailers with $27.5 billion in dealership revenue last year. The company also operates Premier Truck Group, which runs 45 retail locations across 10 U.S. states and two Canadian provinces selling Freightliner and Western Star trucks. Retail truck sales declined to 15,709 units in 2025 from 16,923 units in 2024. Stock trading remains minimal, with just 228 shareholders of record.
