The Port of Long Beach, the Wonderful Co. and Lincoln Transportation Services have established a memorandum of understanding to create a "Green Truck Corridor." The corridor will span approximately 150 miles between Long Beach and California's Central Valley. The partnership will coordinate freight movement across port operations, inland logistics networks and zero-emissions trucking initiatives while targeting reductions in air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. The corridor handles more than 300,000 shipping containers of imports and exports annually. The Wonderful Co., a $6 billion privately held agricultural company, is constructing a 2,000-acre logistics center in Shafter, California, which currently operates 24 tenant facilities. The tenants include operations for Amazon, FedEx and Walmart. The agreement establishes a framework for improving supply chain efficiency while advancing decarbonization efforts across California's freight transportation sector.
