Russian President Vladimir Putin will travel to Beijing on May 19-20 for talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Moscow and Beijing announced Saturday. The visit follows U.S. President Donald Trump's meetings with Xi on Thursday and Friday. Putin's trip marks the second meeting between the Russian and Chinese leaders in under a year and coincides with the 25th anniversary of the Treaty of Good-Neighbourliness and Friendly Cooperation. The leaders will address bilateral issues and strengthen their comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation. They will also discuss key international and regional matters. Russia remains among the world's largest oil producers, while China ranks as one of the globe's biggest energy consumers, making energy trade central to their relationship.
