Qatar Airways Cargo has commenced twice-weekly seasonal freighter operations serving Katowice Airport in Poland. The service launched July 17 using Boeing 777F aircraft, with operations scheduled through October 24. This marks the carrier's entry into the Central European cargo market and provides regional shippers direct access to Qatar's global cargo network. The airline will operate two weekly routes: a direct Doha-Katowice service and a Doha-Budapest-Katowice rotation. The 777F carries over 100 tonnes per flight, making it the largest twin-engine freighter in service. Katowice Airport handled 28,356 tonnes during the first half of 2026, a 29% increase year-over-year. Airport officials project record volumes exceeding 50,000 tonnes this year, with ambitions to reach 100,000 tonnes annually by decade's end. The partnership strengthens Katowice's logistics positioning across Central Europe.
