Three major airline cargo operators are moving toward commercial launch of their integrated freight network after completing their first coordinated trial shipment. Qatar Airways Cargo, IAG Cargo and MASkargo successfully transported copper foil from Kuala Lumpur to Chicago via hubs in Doha and Dublin, demonstrating their combined operational capability. The partnership, announced in April 2025, was originally slated to begin operations late last year. The venture aims to unlock enhanced connectivity across more than 400 destinations by combining the three carriers' route networks and fleet assets. Qatar Airways Cargo operates 30 Boeing 777 freighters plus belly capacity across 240 passenger jets and is the largest cargo airline in the world by traffic, excluding major package express carriers. MASkargo maintains three Airbus A330-200 cargo aircraft. IAG Cargo oversees freight operations for British Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus, Vueling and Level. The carriers aligned safety standards and harmonized systems to support seamless operations across their integrated network.
