Qatar Airways Cargo will launch scheduled freighter operations from Helsinki on September 2, marking its first dedicated cargo flight to the Finnish capital. A Boeing 777 freighter will operate weekly on a Doha-Budapest-Helsinki-Doha routing, offering 100 tonnes of export capacity per week. The service complements seven weekly widebody passenger flights on the Doha-Helsinki route, which resumed in July after a pause since December 2022 and provide over 70 tonnes of belly capacity each direction. Helsinki serves as a critical hub for Nordic and Finnish exporters, particularly for high-tech products, pharmaceuticals, industrial machinery and perishables. The new freighter complements Qatar Airways Cargo's specialized TechLift, Pharma and Fresh services, while ground networks extend coverage across Scandinavia and the Baltic region through road feeder partnerships.
