Radiant Logistics has acquired the Dallas brokerage operations of Whitacre Logistics Services, bolstering its intermodal and over-the-road transportation capabilities. The unit will integrate into Radiant Road & Rail. Financial terms were undisclosed but structured to include performance-based components typical of the carrier's deal model. Jeff Vielhaber will lead the Dallas operation and head a new independent agent development program for Radiant Road & Rail. The acquisition gives customers access to expanded services including domestic and international forwarding and customs brokerage. The Dallas operation primarily serves building materials, manufacturing and packaging sectors. The move underscores consolidation across the brokerage sector as third-party logistics providers expand service offerings. Radiant, based in Renton, Washington, recently acquired a majority stake in Mexico City-based Weport and California ocean and air freight forwarder Transcon Shipping.
