Shanghai-based e-commerce forwarder Rich Sale International will begin operating dedicated freighter flights between Jinan Yaoqiang International Airport and Chicago Rockford. This marks a significant expansion of cross-border logistics capacity. The carrier will launch eight charter flights in August before transitioning to twice-weekly scheduled service in September, utilizing Atlas Air as its operating partner. Gateway Sales and Solutions will provide ten lowboy trailers to support cargo movement to Midwest destinations. Chicago Rockford's cargo-focused infrastructure enables rapid aircraft turnaround—from wheels down to engines off in as little as five minutes—without the congestion constraints typical of major passenger hubs. The service addresses surging e-commerce demand on the China-North America lane following market recovery post-tariff adjustments. Rich Sale joins DSV in recent Chicago Rockford expansions, as the Illinois airport strengthens its position as a premier gateway for time-sensitive Asian cargo entering North America.
