Ruan, the Des Moines-based transportation and logistics provider, has entered the customs brokerage market. The new service spans the United States and Mexico, operating through licensed entities in both nations. The carrier leverages government trade portals including U.S. Customs and Border Protection's Automated Commercial Environment and Mexico's SAT system. The offering delivers real-time shipment tracking and integrates CTPAT security protocols. Ruan simultaneously rebranded its Brokerage Support Services division to Freight Brokerage. The company now bundles customs clearance with its existing capabilities: 3,000 tractors, cross-border drayage, intermodal services and third-party logistics. Additional services include customs consulting, IMMEX program guidance and trade agreement advisory. Chief Commercial Officer Marty Wadle described the expansion as a logical step to streamline cross-border operations and reduce delays for customers navigating regulatory requirements.
