Schneider National finalized a broad leadership restructuring Monday, elevating Jim Filter to president and CEO while creating three new executive vice president positions across the multimodal carrier's major business units.
Filter, who spent 27 years at the Green Bay, Wisconsin-based company, replaces outgoing CEO Mark Rourke, who transitions to executive chairman. Michael Baumgardt takes the helm of intermodal and logistics operations, which generated $2.4 billion in combined revenue over the past 12 months. Steve Wells, president of Schneider subsidiary Cowan Systems, leads the truckload division, which posted $2.5 billion in trailing revenue.
Angela Prill advanced to senior vice president of intermodal operations after 16 years with Schneider. Chairman James Welch becomes lead independent director, while Austin Ramirez, CEO of Wisconsin manufacturer Husco, joins the board. Filter emphasized the restructured organization prioritizes customer relationships and operational agility.
