Freighter operator Silk Way West Airlines has formalized a multi-year cargo handling partnership with dnata at Singapore's Changi Airport. The agreement will support the carrier's twice-weekly freighter services, encompassing more than 100 flights annually and handling over 15,000 tonnes of cargo yearly. Shipment types include general freight, temperature-controlled goods, and specialized cargo spanning oil and gas, aviation and aerospace equipment. Singapore functions as a critical hub within Silk Way West's global network, linking Asia Pacific markets to destinations across the Middle East and Europe. The expanded partnership builds on existing agreements in Amsterdam, Dubai and Iraq locations. Both parties are developing an aviation services hub at Azerbaijan's new Alat Free Economic Zone cargo airport, launching April 2027. The hub will initially offer cargo handling and ground services, expanding to include catering, freight forwarding and de-icing capabilities.
