SolitAir Expands European Footprint With Bucharest Gateway

The UAE-based cargo carrier SolitAir has launched operations into Bucharest, marking its second European destination. This follows an inaugural flight to Sofia last month. The Dubai World Central-based airline will serve Henri Coandă International Airport (Otopeni), strengthening connectivity between the Global South and Europe through its Middle East hub. Romania's robust automotive, manufacturing, technology and industrial sectors position the country as a strategic logistics hub in southeast Europe. SolitAir operates seven Boeing 737-800 converted freighters with 20-tonne capacity each, handling dangerous goods, pharmaceuticals, perishables and oversized shipments. The carrier holds ACC3 designation from Belgian authorities and a UK Third Country Operator Certificate. Since launching in October 2024, SolitAir has expanded to 56 routes across 34 countries, including a 17-city African network. The airline plans to grow its fleet to 20 aircraft.
