Wove, an Atlanta-based logistics automation firm, has deployed a no-cost tariff calculator for freight forwarders and customs brokers. The tool launched around the end of 2024 amid expectations of more than 2.5 million rule changes across 40-plus Harmonized Tariff Schedules over the next 18 months. It now attracts thousands of weekly users and has evolved into a tariff simulation platform allowing companies to compare historical duty rates on past shipment dates. Co-founder Jay Edlin said the calculator emerged from the company's existing document ingestion capabilities, repurposed to parse unstructured tariff data. The HTS is published primarily in PDF format, making it difficult to navigate. The platform has proved particularly useful for calculating refunds related to tariff disputes resolved through recent legal challenges. Wove, founded in 2022, typically provides workflow automation and document processing services to logistics providers, automating critical tasks including shipment creation and customs entry filing.
