TAAG Angola Airlines Launches Weekly Freighter Service to Lusaka

TAAG Angola Airlines has initiated cargo operations between Amsterdam and Lusaka, Zambia, marking the carrier's latest expansion into African airfreight markets. The inaugural flight departed July 24 aboard a Boeing 737-800 freighter carrying 12.8 tonnes of machine parts, IT equipment, personal effects and high-value goods. Weekly service is now established on the route, with initial demand already generating scheduled loads of 14 and 16 tonnes for subsequent operations. NAC2000 provides ramp and cargo handling services plus general sales representation in Zambia. TAAG plans to launch a Libreville, Gabon route during fourth quarter 2026. The Lusaka connection strengthens TAAG's North-South logistics corridor by linking European, Chinese and Brazilian cargo origins to African distribution points. The airline now operates dedicated freighter services to eight African destinations including Lagos, Brazzaville, Abidjan, Accra, Kinshasa and Nairobi. The service supports Zambian export initiatives for beef, poultry and horticultural products.
