Taiwan's government is negotiating with Iranian authorities to secure passage for eight vessels currently stranded in the Persian Gulf region. The fleet includes seven containerships operated by Evergreen, Yang Ming, and Wan Hai Lines. Identified vessels include Evergreen's Ever Lotus (9,466 teu), Ever Lovely (8,488 teu), and Ever Unicorn (5,652 teu); Yang Ming's YM Credibility (2,940 teu) and the chartered Marianetta (4,444 teu); and Wan Hai's Wan Hai A07 (13,100 teu). Taiwan's Maritime Port Bureau director-general Yeh Hsieh-lung confirmed that the ministries of transportation and foreign affairs convened on Thursday to address the situation. The foreign ministry has established direct contact with Iranian officials while coordinating with allied nations on resolution strategies. Officials pledged continued communication with shipping companies and monitoring of developments.
