Tesla is expanding its logistics network in Central Texas with a new 538,720-square-foot distribution facility at Mustang Ridge, southwest of Austin. The lease-space build-out at Mustang Ridge Distribution Center I represents another layer in the automaker's deepening supply chain presence in the region, which already includes its corporate headquarters and Gigafactory Texas manufacturing complex.

The project, registered with state regulators in September, does not specify what products or materials will flow through the facility or staffing levels. Tesla's distribution expansion coincides with aggressive growth targets. The company reported second-quarter revenue of $28.24 billion, up 26% year-over-year, with record deliveries of 480,126 vehicles globally. Capital expenditures doubled sequentially to $5.8 billion in Q2, with full-year spending projected to exceed $25 billion as Tesla scales manufacturing capacity. The company also plans to begin production of its Class 8 Tesla Semi at its Nevada facility later this year.
