Tesla has won the primary supplier position in a 2,500-truck battery-electric Class 8 order announced by Catalyst Mobility and the Smart Freight Centre. This marks the largest electric truck procurement in U.S. history. The order flows through ZET SCALE, a program designed to aggregate shipper demand and enable manufacturers to achieve scale pricing. Microsoft and PepsiCo anchor the initiative, which targets 10,000 or more trucks. The alliance evaluated bids on price, range, charging capability and production capacity before selecting Tesla. Kenworth, RIDE and Volvo serve as secondary suppliers for carriers with specialized operational needs. ZET Financial will finance the order through a fair market value lease program that shifts residual-value risk away from fleet operators. Tesla's Sparks, Nevada facility is designed for 50,000-truck annual production. Zero-emission heavy trucks represented just 3% of the U.S. market according to the International Council on Clean Transportation's global market monitor.
