Texel Air Australasia has appointed Peter Sheehan as managing director effective July 22, positioning the New Zealand-based air cargo operator for expanded growth across Australia, New Zealand and the Asia-Pacific region.
Sheehan assumes responsibility for leadership, performance and strategic execution of the carrier's Australasian operations. His background includes cargo strategy roles at Sydney Airport, involvement in Western Sydney International Airport's cargo precinct development, airline chief executive experience and senior positions across airfreight supply chain companies.
Chairman John Chisholm said the appointment strengthens leadership capability for the company's next development phase. Sheehan's combined aviation, logistics and executive expertise positions him to drive sustainable growth and operational improvements.
Texel Air operates six Boeing 737-800 Converted Freighter aircraft. The company provides ACMI and air cargo charter services, serving customers including NZ Post, Freightways and Team Global Express.
