Thai Airways cancelled a planned cargo embargo just hours after announcing it, following government intervention to address equipment and personnel shortages caused by severe flooding across central Thailand last week. The carrier initially suspended all cargo bookings for six days but retracted the decision after the Thai government committed 130 military personnel to ground handling operations, with an additional 100 personnel planned. Transport Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn directed the airline to maintain services, citing concerns for the export sector where 33 percent of shipments move via air transport. Airports of Thailand also provided additional covered storage space to help clear service backlogs. Despite significant rainfall in Bangkok and surrounding regions, flight operations and airport infrastructure sustained no direct impact.
