Trimac Expands Into Food-Grade Logistics With California Freight Acquisition

Canadian bulk transportation company Trimac has acquired California Freight, a food-grade logistics provider operating across California and Nevada. The deal marks Trimac's entry into specialized agricultural and dairy transportation.

California Freight operates eight terminals, a warehouse and brokerage office, primarily serving the Central Valley's food and agricultural sector. The company maintains a fleet of approximately 500 tractors and tank trailers, with over 400,000 square feet of food-grade storage capacity. Raw milk transportation to processing facilities represents a significant portion of its operations.

Trimac President Matt Faure said California Freight's 37 years of expertise align with the company's growth objectives. Jesse Hanson, a Trimac sales and operations executive, will assume the presidency at California Freight, which will retain its current operational name. Financial terms were not disclosed.
