Railcar pooling company TTX announced leadership changes on June 18, with CEO Tom Wells retiring effective July 6 after nearly two decades in the role. Marty Thomas, elevated to President late last year, will assume the CEO position. Wells, who joined TTX in 2001 as Senior Vice President of Fleet Management, became President and CEO in 2008. His 42-year railroad career began at Norfolk Southern in 1984, where he spent 17 years in roles spanning asset management, car repair, transportation, sales, marketing and intermodal operations. Thomas arrived at TTX in November 2024 as Executive Vice President overseeing Supply Chain, IT, Finance and Fleet Management. He brings 29 years of experience from GE Transportation and Wabtec, holding leadership positions in operations, supply chain management and fleet asset management. Wells expressed confidence in Thomas and the TTX team to build on the company's foundation.
