Negotiations to end the ongoing U.S.-Iran conflict remain stalled as President Donald Trump signals patience with the diplomatic process. The war, now in its fourth month, continues under a fragile ceasefire while negotiators from both nations work toward a resolution.

Trump stated Saturday he is "in no hurry" to finalize an agreement, prioritizing terms that would prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons and require immediate reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. The waterway carries roughly one-fifth of global oil supplies and has remained largely impassable since Iran closed it when the war broke out.

The conflict has severely disrupted energy markets, driving inflation to its highest level since May 2023. Trump threatened renewed military action if negotiations fail to yield desired concessions, though he expressed preference for a swift resolution.
