The United Arab Emirates has completed nearly 50% of a second pipeline designed to circumvent the Strait of Hormuz, according to Abu Dhabi National Oil Co. leadership. The project will double ADNOC's export capacity through Fujairah, a Gulf of Oman port positioned beyond Hormuz. Construction has accelerated following the Iran war, with operations expected to commence in 2027. Iran has blockaded Hormuz since early March, creating severe energy market disruptions. Over 1 billion barrels of oil have been lost, with approximately 100 million additional barrels lost weekly. ADNOC estimates four months minimum to restore oil flows to 80% of normal levels following any conflict resolution. Full normalization is expected in 2027's first or second quarter. The blockade represents the most significant energy supply disruption in history.
