Uber Freight announced a multiyear investment to strengthen its European logistics footprint. The company plans to open a control tower and operations hub in Krakow, Poland in 2027, marking its second major European location alongside existing Netherlands operations. The expansion targets the continent's substantial road freight market, valued at approximately $520 billion, with trucks moving 13.3 billion tonnes of goods across the European Union in 2025. Uber Freight is directing investment toward technology, talent and infrastructure to support fourth-party logistics services. New 4PL deal volume in Europe doubled year-over-year, driven partly by North American customers seeking consolidated transportation management across multiple regions. The company did not disclose specific investment figures or planned headcount additions, though it maintains more than 4,000 employees globally.
