Uber Freight is expanding its European fourth-party logistics operations with renewed investment in technology, personnel, and infrastructure. The company announced plans to open a new control tower and operations hub in Krakow next year, while appointing Mike Doucleff as Europe head effective September 28. New 4PL deal wins in Europe doubled last year. The company sees additional growth potential among North American shippers seeking to consolidate their global logistics provider base. Freight revenue climbed 25% annually to $1.58 billion in the second quarter, though the division posted a $24 million operating loss. The 4PL platform handles complex, multi-continent engagements including work with chemicals manufacturer OXEA, covering transportation across North America and Europe. Despite operating losses, Uber Freight remains committed to expanding European capabilities while pursuing sustainable profitability.
