Uber Freight has appointed Amir Pelleg, a logistics technology executive with more than 25 years of experience, as its new chief product officer. Pelleg previously held executive roles at Amazon, Convoy and Dandy, leading product, engineering and operations teams. The appointment underscores Uber Freight's commitment to developing transportation management technology that accelerates customer decision-making and strengthens supply chain resilience. Pelleg emphasized that modern logistics networks face unprecedented complexity, with data fragmented across disconnected systems and organizational silos. He stressed that effective product development begins with understanding customer pain points rather than pursuing technology for its own sake. According to Pelleg, AI can play a critical role by connecting fragmented information and enabling faster, more confident decision-making. "The opportunity isn't simply more technology but in the ability to turn fragmented data into a single, proactive network view," he said. Pelleg noted that Uber Freight's transportation management platform, combined with its brokerage and operational capabilities, positions the company to help shippers gain unified visibility across freight networks.
