Jennifer Hamann will retire as chief financial officer of Union Pacific in early 2027, the railroad announced. Hamann, who joined the carrier in 1992 and became CFO in January 2020, departs after nearly 35 years with the company. She previously held senior positions across finance, human resources, marketing, sales, investor relations and corporate audit. Chief Executive Jim Vena said Hamann "led with integrity and heart, guiding our finances through historic challenges, executing our strategy, mentoring future leaders and representing Union Pacific across the industry." Hamann was the first woman to serve as Union Pacific's CFO and served as executive sponsor of LEAD, the company's women's employee resource group. She received a Woman MAKE Award from The Manufacturing Institute for her contributions to manufacturing and transportation. Union Pacific said it will announce Hamann's successor at a later date.
