US Visa Revocations for Mexican Truckers Hit 20,000 in Enforcement Push

The United States revoked work visas for approximately 20,000 Mexican truck drivers between April 2025 and April 2026, according to Mexico's National Chamber of Freight Transportation. The crackdown stems from a Trump administration executive order issued in April 2025 targeting foreign commercial drivers. Roughly 30,000 foreign drivers have been removed from U.S. operations during the period, with Mexican nationals representing about two-thirds of departures. The enforcement campaign focuses on cabotage violations, which prohibit foreign drivers from hauling cargo between U.S. domestic points.
