Volvo Autonomous Solutions and DSV have begun operating self-driving trucks between Dallas and Houston. The service deploys Volvo's VNL Autonomous truck paired with self-driving technology from Aurora and Waabi. Operations run depot-to-depot between Aurora's terminals and integrate directly into DSV's logistics operations. A safety driver remains aboard during initial phases. The Dallas-Houston lane serves as a foundation for expansion to additional routes. DSV Road CEO Helmut Schweighofer cited opportunities to enhance safety, address driver shortages, and enable continuous asset utilization. Volvo Autonomous Solutions has accumulated over one million miles in local and regional operations since 2023. Both companies plan to scale the program across additional lanes as operational experience builds.
