Walmart Q1 Revenue Surges on Rapid Delivery Push and Marketplace Growth

Walmart's global e-commerce sales climbed more than 26% in the first quarter, accounting for 23% of total net sales. The retailer achieved its ninth consecutive quarter of e-commerce growth exceeding 20%, fueled by aggressive expansion of ultra-fast fulfillment capabilities and its third-party marketplace platform. Store-fulfilled delivery more than doubled over two years, with 36% of orders completed within three hours in Q1. Sam's Club membership division posted 6.1% net sales growth, with e-commerce now representing 20% of sales. The warehouse club launched one-hour express delivery in early April, fulfilling nearly 65,000 orders in three weeks. Walmart can now reach 60% of U.S. population with rapid delivery. In India, Flipkart operates over 800 micro-fulfillment centers enabling sub-13-minute average delivery times.
