Warehouse on Wheels plans to double its footprint to 100 locations and 100,000 trailers. The company has experienced rapid growth since its November 2017 launch in the Houston area, currently operating 37 locations with 35,000 trailers serving 6,000 customers across a network spanning from Montreal to Monterrey, Mexico. The business model converts end-of-life over-the-road trailers into flexible storage through repainting and federal certification, then rents them to manufacturers, retailers and distributors at rates 2 to 4 times cheaper per square foot than traditional warehouse space. Thirty-day evergreen contracts differentiate the offering from typical industrial real estate leases spanning five to ten years. A Chicago location is opening within two weeks as the company positions assets along eight major U.S. transportation corridors and adjacent smaller markets. Windpoint Partners backs the expansion, having invested since 2021.
