Werner Enterprises achieved its highest revenue per truck growth in its One-Way Truckload segment in ten years during the second quarter, with weekly revenue per truck reaching $6,114, a 27.7% increase year-over-year.

The carrier accomplished this through a 34% reduction in average trucks within the segment. Miles per truck per week increased by 15%, while average trip lengths extended to 685 miles from 581 miles in the prior-year period.

Werner's Dedicated fleet expanded following its January acquisition of FirstFleet. The division posted a 5% rise in average revenue per truck per week.

On a non-GAAP basis, adjusted operating margin improved 80 basis points to 3%, while diluted earnings per share surged 178% to 22 cents. CEO Derek Leathers attributed the results to strategic adaptations in response to tightening capacity and FirstFleet integration gains.
