A major U.S. grocer used yard management data and gate footage to support a claim for approximately $60,000 in missing cheese shipments. The technology helped identify the specific carrier and driver involved in the losses.
The retailer, one of the nation's five largest grocers with more than $145 billion in fiscal 2025 sales, discovered five loads arrived with fewer pallets than documented on purchase orders. Investigators knew the Minnesota supplier and shipping lanes involved but lacked carrier identification.
YMX Logistics personnel searched yard-management records, identified carriers operating those lanes, and reviewed gate video from relevant dates. The footage revealed the trailers and drivers connected to all five shipments, establishing the link needed to support the recovery claim.
The grocer operates more than 2,000 stores and is piloting the yard system at multiple distribution centers. Its Arizona facility, involved in this case, processes 600 to 800 truck movements daily.
