Colonial Terminals Launches Foundation 3 Breakbulk Hub at Port of Savannah

Colonial Terminals has commissioned Foundation 3, a 25-acre multimodal breakbulk terminal along the Savannah River designed to bolster the port region's capacity for bulk and project cargo. The facility operates around the clock with an 810-foot heavy-capacity dock providing direct vessel access. The terminal includes two warehouses spanning 130,000 square feet, a 75,000-square-foot concrete storage yard, and more than 14,000 feet of onsite rail track with terminal-operated switching. Norfolk Southern Class I rail service connects the facility to interstate commerce. Direct access to Interstates 16 and 95 enables truck movements. Foundation 3 handles steel, forest products, project cargo, palletized goods, super sacks, and general breakbulk commodities. Both union and non-union stevedoring services are available. Colonial Terminals said the investment strengthens Savannah's competitive standing in breakbulk and industrial cargo markets alongside its established container capabilities.
