A Boeing 767-300 freighter operated by 21 Air for Amazon's logistics operations veered off the runway at Miami International Airport on Sunday. The aircraft, Flight 7598, carried more than 32,000 pounds of contact lenses manufactured by CooperVision at its Puerto Rico facility as primary cargo. The accident killed five people and injured several others when the disabled jet struck two vehicles. CooperVision, a subsidiary of CooperCompanies, confirmed its involvement through a third-party logistics provider. The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the incident. The tilted, partially damaged aircraft now rests in a grassy field, and salvage prospects remain unclear. Amazon Air Cargo, which markets excess capacity on Amazon's fleet of over 100 aircraft to external shippers, operated the flight.
