Enforcement Actions Ground Over 100 Trucks Across North America

Commercial vehicle enforcement operations in Saskatchewan and Missouri have resulted in more than 100 trucks being sidelined for safety violations. In Saskatchewan, highway patrol officers placed 103 vehicles out of service during a 72-hour inspection initiative near Swift Current. Officers completed 294 inspections with a one-third out-of-service rate. Brake defects dominated violations, with 62 of the grounded trucks citing brake component or adjustment problems. The operation aligned with the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance's annual Brake Safety Week initiative. In Missouri, state highway patrol conducted a separate enforcement action along Interstate 70 in Cooper County, where inspectors examined 38 commercial vehicles and identified 94 violations. Four drivers and three vehicles were placed out of service, including one trailer with completely removed brakes and clamped hose. The enforcement actions underscore operational consequences carriers face for inadequate maintenance protocols.
