Job-seeking portal Jobvision recorded a 50% surge in resume submissions during late April alone, underscoring desperate competition for scarce positions. Inflation has spiked dramatically, raising prices for fuel, food and housing. Workers have exhausted primary employment options and are now losing secondary income sources as sanctions tighten further. Alireza Mahjoob, head of Iran's Workers House, acknowledged in May that unemployment exceeded official projections, stating the crisis threatens the nation's working class. Many households are borrowing to cover basic expenses and postponing major financial decisions.
