Lufthansa Cargo achieved 14% year-on-year base yield growth in the third quarter, leveraging tight capacity and robust demand to maintain pricing power despite Middle Eastern carriers resuming service. Overall yields climbed 22% as the airline successfully passed higher fuel surcharges to customers. Adjusted EBIT surged to €162 million with a 15% margin, more than tripling from the prior year. The gains occurred during the seasonally weak quarter for airfreight. Capacity expanded 5%, driven by double-digit belly capacity growth following full integration of Italian carrier ITA. Chargeable weight increased 7%, pushing load factors up more than three percentage points. Demand remained particularly strong in Asia-Pacific, with India standing out as a key growth market and transpacific flows becoming increasingly important for the carrier.
