SONAR has launched Conversion Optimization within its Supply Chain Intelligence platform, enabling shippers to identify cost-saving opportunities across their freight networks. The tool analyzes shipper data to flag lanes suitable for conversion between truckload and intermodal service, as well as between spot and contract rates. Users can adjust conversion volumes and receive lane-by-lane savings estimates that update automatically. The module provides three conversion pathways: over-the-road to intermodal, spot to contract, and contract to spot arrangements. Each lane displays current rates alongside SONAR market benchmarks for intermodal contracts, truckload contracts, and spot rates. The feature targets procurement, network planning, and finance teams within the SONAR Shipper Consortium. The tool launched in October 2026, allowing shippers to test different conversion scenarios before implementation.
