Asset-tracking startup Band24 is recruiting logistics operators to test Terra, a multi-connectivity device designed to maintain equipment visibility in coverage-sparse regions. Selected participants will receive units in December, with full commercial launch targeted for early 2027.

Terra integrates Bluetooth, LTE-M cellular and satellite connectivity through Hubble Network's low-Earth-orbit constellation. The device leverages over 100 million crowdsourced Bluetooth access points for routine location updates while relying on satellite transmissions in dead zones. On-demand location updates take approximately one minute when cellular or terrestrial networks are available.

The tracker monitors asset location, movement, dwell time, temperature, humidity and tampering. The initiative arrives amid rising cargo theft concerns. Cargo thefts across North America reached 2,646 confirmed incidents in 2025, an 18% increase from 2024. Verified theft losses totaled nearly $725 million, up 60% compared to 2024, with average loss per theft climbing to $273,990.
