Small carriers and owner-operators are increasingly viewing trailer access as a flexible business decision rather than a capital purchase, according to industry conversations in 2026. Repowr operates a marketplace connecting fleets with excess equipment to carriers needing temporary capacity, similar to peer-to-peer rental models. The platform currently maintains roughly 3,500 trailers across dry vans, reefers, and flatbeds available for rental periods ranging from three days to 90 days or longer. Carriers can pick up equipment at one location and return it at another, streamlining logistics. The service targets equipment selections to carrier qualifications, reducing wasted application time. The fastest-growing users are new carriers building fleets from the ground up, preferring flexible rental arrangements over ownership. Trailer selection fundamentally constrains which loads carriers can accept, making equipment strategy critical to business viability.
