Etihad Cargo and the Virginia Economic Development Partnership have signed a memorandum of understanding to develop air cargo capabilities at Washington Dulles International Airport. The agreement, inked at the TIACA Air Cargo Forum, establishes a framework for collaboration on market intelligence and expansion opportunities. The partnership aims to bolster Dulles as a competitive global air cargo hub, with particular focus on pharmaceutical, perishables, energy, data center, and cloud computing sectors. Stanislas Brun, chief cargo officer at Etihad Airways, cited the carrier's expertise handling temperature-sensitive and time-critical shipments as a foundation for the partnership. Eric Jehu, VEDP vice president of logistics, said the gateway would enable investment and economic activity beyond freight volumes alone, positioning Virginia businesses for global market competition.
