Turkish Airlines has committed to leasing two Boeing 777-300ERSF converted freighters from AerCap. Deliveries are scheduled between March and September 2027. The aircraft will be converted at Etihad Engineering's maintenance facility in Abu Dhabi, which operates a dedicated conversion hub for the 777-300ER passenger-to-freighter program developed with Israel Aerospace Industries. The converted jets will expand Turkish Airlines' existing cargo operations, complementing a fleet of 12 dedicated 777 freighters already in service. AerCap cited the regional conversion capability in the Middle East as a strategic advantage for the carrier's operations. Israel Aerospace Industries received U.S. Federal Aviation Administration certification for the 777-300ERSF conversion program in August 2025, clearing the path for broader adoption. AerCap has delivered converted aircraft to Kalitta Air, Fly Meta and other carriers including Ethiopian Airlines and China Southern Group.
