Gemini Consolidates Asia Shuttle Routes, Removes Shanghai Port Call

The Gemini Cooperation is consolidating its intra-Asia container shuttle services, eliminating Shanghai as a port of call in a significant network restructuring. Maersk, which operates both services within the alliance, will merge the A04 and A14 shuttle routes into a single expanded A14 string. The A04 service currently deploys two 4,200 teu vessels on a Dalian-Tianjin-Busan-Shanghai rotation. It will be discontinued following the final departure from Dalian on September 23. The enhanced A14 service will deploy four vessels averaging 4,500 teu with a revised itinerary of Tianjin-Tanjung Pelepas-Singapore-Xiamen-Tianjin-Dalian-Busan. The consolidated service launches September 26 with the 5,000 teu Ute departing Tianjin. Maersk said the consolidation improves schedule reliability and service consistency while maintaining connectivity across North China and Southeast Asia through the restructured network.
