Hapag-Lloyd has signed an agreement with DP World to secure long-term terminal access across five African ports, bolstering the German carrier's continental infrastructure strategy. The accord covers three operational facilities—Dakar in Senegal, Luanda in Angola, and Dar Es Salaam in Tanzania—plus two emerging terminals under development in Banana, Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Maputo, Mozambique. CEO Rolf Habben Jansen cited Africa as a key growth market requiring reliable infrastructure and scalable networks. Hapag-Lloyd currently operates the WA1 feeder service to Dakar, the EA2 and EAS4 services to Dar Es Salaam, and the WNFa feeder, SAT, and WWA services to Luanda. The partnership supports development of the two emerging facilities, providing base cargoes for infrastructure expansion across the continent.
