Humble Robotics raised $51 million in Series A funding Thursday to advance its driverless, electric Humble Hauler into customer pilot programs focused on port drayage and warehouse operations. Obvious Ventures led the round, joined by existing backers Eclipse and Energy Impact Partners. The San Francisco company's total funding now reaches $75 million, approximately six months after emerging from stealth with a $24 million seed round. Founder and CEO Eyal Cohen emphasized the strategic focus on short, repeatable freight movements over long-haul routes, citing controlled operating environments as ideal for autonomous deployment. Federal data shows 87% of domestic freight travels less than 250 miles annually. Shipments under 100 miles represent 44% of the market. The new capital will fund customer pilots, manufacturing development, and expansion of Humble's modular vehicle platform. The company targets regional routes under 250 miles and plans to sell haulers to third-party operators while engaging customers, partners, and regulators on commercial deployment timelines.
